My great-grandmother Maria McClure (b abt 1839 in or near Portadown, Co Armagh) and her sister Margaret (b abt 1836) emigrated to Australia in the 1850s, reportedly after the death of their mother. It is believed that the family grew crab-apple and flax and had a dairy in Co Armagh, the women being known for their fine linen garments. Maria, a milliner and tailoress, married Walter Newton (from Essex) in Australia in 1861. Seeking information on Maria's parents, siblings and other family members. All leads appreciated.

James McMurray, was born near Portadown, Co. Armagh, Northern Ireland in 1822. He moved to Pickering, ON, Canada and married Jane Smith who was born in New Brunswick. They raised 3 sons, John, William and James between 1845 and 1848 in Pickering and James died there. His widow and family moved to East Nissouri where they had relatives. We are preparing a History Book for East Nissouri and would like information on McMurray relatives.

Joseph MARSHALL (1784-1877) and his wife Letitia YOUNG (1809-1881) were from near Portadown, Co. Armagh, Northern Ireland. They immigrated along with their children Jane, William, Joseph, Robert and Letitia to West Zorra Township, Oxford Co., Canada. Jane soon married her neighbour across the road in East Nissouri Township, Cornelius McCorquodale. They had a Cheese factory on their farm 1872-1903, and Robert Marshall was the first cheese-maker.

Trying to find any details for Greer family. We know of a Robert b. c1850 who was a carpenter. Wife may have been Ann or Anne. Children of theirs were at least Robert b. c1878, Christina b 1884 and Anna Liza. Chrissie married Percy Burns and went to England. I know there was still family in Portadown in the 1920s and 30s when my father, William Manson, was a boy and visited with his mother Isabella (Beattie). Do these names mean anything to anyone?

I am looking for information regarding my family history. Here's what I know. Anne Reid (b. March 11, 1890) Married Michael Curran from Workington England, on Aug 17, 1909. They had a son, Joseph b. June 18, 1910 and moved to the U.S. prior to my grandfather's birth in 1917. Michael played football for Portadown and played on the Ireland team in 1909 against Lankashire. I have no information of ancestors before Anne and Michael and would love to find out more.
