red mail Blaich Crofting Village
Blaich is a small crofting village on the Ardgour estate owned since the 15th century by the Maclean's of Ardgour. The 1st family of Blaich were descended from Hector, 5th son of Ewen Maclean, the 2nd Laird of Ardgour. The 2nd family of Blaich were descended from Lachlan Mor Maclean 1614-1703post son of Allan the 7th Laird of Ardgour. The cencus records of 1841 and 1851 show many of the two famlies descendants still living in and around Blaich. I have compiled death indexes, giving names of parents etc for the desceased and inhabitant indexes for this village around the 1770's if anyone is interested.
