John Joes/William c1835 Aberffraw. Father John Williams, but marriage certificate and censes state John Jones. He married Dinah Roberts in Aberffraw in 1860 and Father was deceased. Children: Jane 1862, Elizabeth 1867, Ellen 1869 all born Aberffraw and Richard 1875 and Hugh 1877 both born in Newborough. Dinah came from Mold, Flint with Father Thomas c1836. Has anyone any info on any of these people?

MISSING PLAQUE - (Black Bridge - Anglesey)
My uncle William was killed by a train in Holyhead in 1910.My older brother says he can recall seeing a plaque with the name 'Pilling' on it in the 1960s but cant remember where. Is there anyone who has any knowledge of such a plaque. We have detailsof his death (aged 24) and knowing that there was a plaque would close a chapter on our family tree. We also know that he played for a 'local' cricket team.

I'm researching my 3 x great-grandfather Edward Billinge Killey. dob for EBK is circa 1789. I known he was married to Grace Roberts who was born in 1790 probably in Llanerchymedd. EBK was a Chemist or Druggist (this is cited in the death notices of his wife and two of his children). From that evidence it suggests he hailed from Llanerchymedd and possibly plied his trade in Caernarvon. His children were: Mary b 1814, David b 1819, William b 1820, Edward Billinge Killey b 1821 (EBK Jr is my 2 x great-grandfather), Ralph Billinge Killey b 1827 & Robert b 1829 I'd love to hear from anyone who is researching this family.

Hi, I am seeking any information on the Rowlands families of Llanrhyddlad in the 1800s. Robert Rowlands (b. 1849) married Mary Elizabeth Williams (b. 1851), who bore two children - Hugh (1868) and Elizabeth Mary (1870). I believe she died shortly after the 1871 census, when her mother Margaret Williams lived with the family. Am seeking Margaret's maiden name, as well as any additional information on her husband William Williams (b.1834) who also apparently died fairly young (before 1871 anyway). Both Hugh and Elizabeth Mary emigrated to Utica New York in 1888 and 1892 respectively. It seems many Williams also emigrated to that town from Llanrhyddlad around the same time. Also would like any info on the ancestors of Robert Rowlands, son of William and Elizabeth Rowlands, both born about 1814. Hope to visit Anglesey someday - thanks for any info! -Stan

Their parents were Frederick George Rider & Grace Helen Victoria Beart. I think Grace was headmistress at St Lawrence School, Bangalore. Frederick George Rider was born in 1868 South Stoneham, Hants and his parents were George Rider and Frances (nee Harding). Frederick George served in India and BEF France 1917/18. Census of 1851, in Pentreath, Edward Rowlands, widower, 53, LabourersÂ’ Victualler, born Pentreath Mary, Daur, 19, Pentreath Anne, Daur., 11 do Elizabeth, Daur., 6, do Also in 1851, in Bangor, is Frances Hughes, born Pentreath abt 1828 and wife of Griffith Hughes a gardener.Children are Ann, Thomas, Mary, Catherine, Griffith and Elizabeth. In 1861, Frances Hughes turns up as an Inn Keeper with children but husband missing. Her age is wrong but that appears to be error as everything else matches. Wonder if anyone else knows about the Rowland side of this family.

Our greatgrandfather was John Davies born 1866 ( father John and mother Mary) John married Ann Thomas of Gyffin and Taid - William Davies was born in 1894. His step mother was a Margaret Ellen Hughes also of Hafodgraiglas. Can find no record of a place named Hafodgreglais in Pentreath. LC

GRIFFITH FAMILY - (Rhos-y-bol - Anglesey)
The GRIFFITH family lived at a house/farm called RHOSDAFARN in Rhosybol from the early 1800s to the 1960s/1970s. In 1955 there was a tragic death of Evan Selwyn GRIFFITH aged 29 years. He was found dying in a field near his home(Rhosdafarn) by a young man who ran for help. Does anyone remember this tragedy? Evan Selwyn was the son of William & Sarah Ann GRIFFITH. I would appreciate any info about this family.

He is listed in the 1901 census as a visitor in the household of William Thomas and Alice William(s?) in Bettws Garmon. His age is given as 53 and his occ Methodist Minister. Also listed in 1891 census as Calvinist Methodist Minister aged 47, Head of household at Llanrhyddlad, Anglesey, with his 46-yr-old wife Margaret and children Margaret E (aged 18, milinier (sic) & drafters Assistant) and Samuel V, a scholar aged 9. Also,listed in the 1881 census as a 37-yr-old Calvinist Minister living at Ty Capal (sic) Rhoscolyn, Anglesey, with his 36-yr-old wife Margaret & 9-yr-old dtr Margaret E listed as born abt 1873 in "Win PA, North America". This is my maternal great-grandfather.

I am looking for information on the son of John Venmore Williams...known as Reverend Samuel Venmore Williams. I know he married Mabel in Holyhead in 1907 and he lived in USA, Canada as well as Wales. He remarried a Mary Andrews in Canada and then later a Miss Saunders. I'd like to find out where and when he died.
