i am trying to trace margaret born 1844 and mary johnston born 1851 who are in the 1891 census working for duncan forbes and wife janet dyce forbes of balgownie house, old machar. they were both domestic servants but i can find no trace of them after this census.

Looking for any of this family. Child Christian baptised in Old Machar in 1772. The daughter of Samuel & Christian ms MARTIN. Had a brother Samuel, baptiseed in Mormond. One of the witnesses was Alexander JOHNSON(E)The other was a Peter MORISON.

Any info about the family and descendants of William Dunn(b1806)Old Machar and Agnes Singer (b1804) Fintray. Their sons James (b1827) and William (b1829) stayed in Aberdeen but sons Alexander (b1832) and John (b1838) emigrated to the gold fields of Australia. Their father William also went to the gold fields and committed suicide at Beechworth Victoria in 1869. I would be interested to hear from any descendants.

Carter and their children were: William, James, Charles, Alexander (my husbands's grandfather), Ann, Jane & James. Alexander left Scotland because of poaching and came to the U.S. at 18.He married Alice Moir either in Scotland or U.S.

Elizabeth Slater, born 13 Sep 1870, Aberdeenshire, Martha, born 16 Aug 1873, Glasgow, John Drummond Slater, born 2 Aug 1880, Glasgow. John and Joanna moved from Aberdeen to Glasgow, where John was involved with the City Mission. In 1903 he emigrated to South Africa with his wife and two youngest daughters. The older children appear to have been left behind in Scotland.

Scotsman mariner rumoured to have come from Aberdeen arrived in New Zealand around 1830 was then involved in timber, pub propietor, ship building and as a trader in partnership with a Capt James Moncur Named his sons John,Robert,James, George, Patrick and Andrew...and his ship the "Sarah Maxwell" We know he spent time in NSW Australia. Some oral history indicates he may have left Scotland in the company of other male relatives who disembarked before he arrived in NZ. It is assumed due to his statement of, having been a mariner, that he worked his passage to NZ He was lost assumed drowned in 1843 in NZ waters

Looking for descendants of Alexander CLARK and Mary Ann FYFE. Known children are George, printer's clerk in 1881 aged 19; Alexander, arts student at Aberdeen University; and James, scholar aged 15 in 1881. Mary Ann was widowed by then and is listed as a lodging-house keeper. Her sister Janet was m to Alexander Hunter of Inverurie.

He was a shipmaster for 35 years and had 6 children by his wife Elizabeth Booth: John, 1818, George 1820, Eliza 1823, Alexander 1824, Gordon Norrie 1827, and Peter Nicol 1832. Elizabeth Booth Craigie was a widow by April 1832. Peter was born in October 1832. She was in London in 1851 with 4 of the children. We think Gordon died as a child.
