Mary (McDonald) and Peter Barclay were married 1845. To them were born Alexander (1845)Mary (1846)James (1848)William (1850) Lydia (1852) and John (1854). After Mary's death in 1858, Peter married Jean Murison Parks in 1859. To their union were born Andrew (1860)Peter (1862) Robert (1865) and Charlotte (1870). Some of the sons went emigrated to the USA through Quebec. They started the Barclay Brothers Granite Works in Barre, Vermont. Those brothers were: William, Peter, Robert, and Andrew. John settled around Schenectady, New York around 1880. The Barclay Granite Works were highly successful, famous and progressive for their time. The monumnet to Robert Burns which stands in Barre, was made in their sheds. William served as Mayor of Barre for two terms shortly before his death.

Searching for info on William Innes b. abt 1856 New Pitsligo (Weetingshill). 1901 Census shows he is married to Mary E. Rothnie b. 1855 New Deer with 7 children: James R b. 5 Jul 1879, William J b.1881, Charles b. 1883, John b. 1886, Mary Anne b. 1 Nov 1887, Alex b. 1889 and Georgina b. 1893. The census gives their address as Backhill, Auchman Hall, New Deer. The family emigrated to Canada and I've found them in the 1906 and 1911 Census for Edmonton, Alberta. Anybody else researching his family? Their marriage ceremony was performed 15 June 1878 by J.C. Hodge, independent minister of New Pitsligo, and witnessed by W. Knox and James Innes. William's father is John Innes b. 1812 Tyrie; his mother is Elspet Thomson b. 1814 New Deer. Mary's parents are Charles Rothnie or Rothney and Ann Donald and her stepfather is William Smith of Peterhead.

Can anyone help me find the family of Isabella Birnie Watson .She was the daughter of William and Elonor Watson ( nee Munro ) Isabella was born at Pitsligo 1859 she married Adam Mckenzie in 1875 and in 1877 they emmigrated to New Zealand with their baby .Sadly the baby died on the journy .These two people are my grt grandparents and I know Isabella was the eldest of 9 children .Looking for help for my family tree
