John Andrew Sinclair was born in Inverurie in February 1884, his mother and father were Harriet and Andrew, his siblings were Robert, David, Katherine or Kate and Alex. He was a Rifle Man in the first world war and later joined the Merchant Navy, he met his future wife Jenny in Liverpool and later settled in Huddersfield, they had four children, Eva, Barbara, Donald and Heather. Looking for relatives of Robert and Annie (nee Hay) ROSS, OF INVERURIE in Scotland and their children John, born around 1889 and his younger brother Alec, birthday unknown. Son John migrated to Australia in early 1920. Father Robert may have been a baker. John died in Toowoomba Queensland Australia in about 1957 after he married Mary Knox Ford of Allora Queensland and had 6 children. Norman, Andrew, Jean, Douglas and Keith and I stillborn child. Any information that correlates would be very gratefully accepted.

Looking for children of this marriage. William (1845, Aberdeen), Private of 93rd Highlanders married Mary Jolly Aitken(1847, Aberdeen), Mar 1871. I cannot locate them on any census, after this date. The 93rd Highlanders were posted to Gibralter at the 1881 Census. 1891 and 1901 no trace. Mary dies in 1912, and her death registration, is signed by husband William, confectioner of 26 North Street Inverurie. Anything would be greatly appreciated

Hi i am trying to help my dad track down his family roots, he was born Charles Conn on 18 April 1934 at Nether Blackhall Inverurie and was adopted when he was approx 6 weeks old by Robert Scott and Sophia O'Farrell living in Park Street Aberdeen, after he was adopted the family moved to London and lived in Brixton for many years. Robert died when my dad was 15 and Sophia died approx 1970 in Lewisham London. My dad also had a sister not sure if she was adopted or what but her name was Isabelle O'Farrell but my dad lost touch with her many years ago. He has managed to track down his half brothers from his birth mother approx 5 years ago but sadly his birth mother had passed away about 4 years before hand. If anyone could help me with any information on either of these familys or can tell me where i can look for this information i would be very gratefull, although i have tried many sites without any success. I would also love to hear from anyone who has any connections with the Conn family from this area and just to see how much of my Dad's roots we can uncover for him. Many thanks Dee

I would be grateful for any information on Isabella Moir Horn(e) b 29 Dec 1896 at 2 Union Square, Inverurie (Old Meldrum maybe). I find her in the 1901 census aged 4 as a boarder with a Christina Smith at 23 Cowgate, Old Meldrum. I have since found her in 1911 Census recorded with grandparents William & Isabella Horne at 47 Duke Street, Dennistoun, Glasgow. I then lose her till her marriage to David Mackie in Glasgow in October 1920. Any info on Isabella, the name Moir, Union Square or Cowgate would be appreciated.
