red mail Wotherspoon's in Old Monkland
I am looking for as much information as possible on the Wotherspoon's in Old Monkland from 1700 to 1800, in particular information on the parents of a George Wotherspoon who married a Christian Burnett in 1782. I have found various bits and pieces about George Wotherspoon on several sites, but much of it is confusing and does not add up. I would have expected George's father to have been a John Wotherspoon as according to my research George's eldest son was called John, I say that on the basis that at that time the first son in a family was almost always named after his paternal grandfather. Any assistance on this would be welcome.

I am looking for information where "Bracken Row" Old Monkland was in the mid 1800s. In the 1871 Census it shows that a family member and his family lived at what looks like Bracken Row or similar in Old Monkland. The entry is smudged so the name may not be accurate. Would like to know which street it was in and whether the building still exists. Could also be saying in the HVillage or Hamlet of Bracken.

I'm trying to find parish records giving birth details of this woman, who I can trace back as far as the 1881 Census but not prior to that. I know she was from Old Monkland area but her common name, and having a rough date of birth are preventing me from finding her. She marries Michael Meechan in St. Patrick's in 1882.
