red mail Waters, Perry, Stevenson Families In Liverpool
John WATERS and wife Margaret moved from Ludlow, Shropshire to Liverpool probably during the 1830s. He was a shoemaker. His son John WATERS moved there too, and married Eliza HENSHAW (born in Wirswall, Shropshire). John was a car driver and carriage owner on various census records, and they lived on Mount Pleasant St. in the mid-1800s. Their children were John Blackwell WATERS, Jane WATERS PERRY, Sarah Elizabeth WATERS, Wiliam Wellington WATERS, and Eliza WATERS HENSHAW. John and his sonJohn Blackwell WATERS owned a livery stable in the 1870s-1880s, and may have employed George STEVENSON as foreman, along with his sons Robert, Amos, and Colin STEVENSON. Jane married George Martin PERRY about 1872, and they had the following children before George died in 1886: George, James, Linda, and John PERRY. I would love to exchange information with anyone who knows of these families! Marny

Alice appears to have died and Frederick once again marries a lady called Nannie Frances CALCUTT 1874. Frederick hand many children but I noticed Nannie and Frederick had a daughter named Maud Lousia HAND and Maude appears to have died at the age of 15 in Birkenhead in 1890. recently I have learned that Frederick at the ripe old age of 65 received a 5 year penal servitude for bigamy as Helen Watt Hand only recently died when had a notice put in the paper stating she was the wife of Frederick Hand so Nannies family reported it to the police, hence he was charged. Does anyone have any information regarding this story RE; Helen, Nannie, Maude or any of the other children from these relationships or their families. Please :) I do have a fair bit of info on My GGG Alice as she is my GM \ grand mother.

William, b 1810, married Elizabeth Smyth (Irish ancestry-daughter of James Smyth and Alice Gainsford) and some of their children were born in Liverpool and some in India. His family were Scottish but I cannot find the connection. She and some of the children migrated to Australia, and she died at Avoca. I don't think William migrated. George Frederick LUDLEY
Has anyone come across George Frederick LUDLEY (or Frederick George), Professional Musician, sailor, mate-merchant service between the dates 1881-1911? My wife's gt. grandmother's (Maud Harriet LUDLEY) death certificate in 1920 referred to her as the widow of George Frederick LUDLEY, Professional Musician, but there is no record of their marriage. Her maiden name was HENRY. The 1911 census shows that she had 5 children of whom three survived but she registered only 2 of the births. Only 4 of the 5 children are known:- Gertrude Maude b.1892, Winifred b.1893(not registered), George Frederick b.1899(not registered), Maud b.1904. The family history appears to indicate that George Frederick Snr. died young of throat cancer but there is no record of a death registered in his name. As a professional musician his stage name may have been WINTER as this is the stage name used by his "wife" Maud. I cannot find him on any census or any other record.
