Pride of Lambeth Lodge
I have a Great Uncle William Daw who lived in Lambeth from around 1880 to the early 1900's and worked on the railway. He was a member of "The Pride of Lambeth Lodge" and was presented with a Medal in 1890 by the Brothers of the Lodge for "Past Services". I would like to find out more about the Lodge, which I suspect was a Temperance Society. Does anyone have any knowledge of this Lodge, and where I might find out more information.
red mail Middleton, Alexander m Isabella Walker?
I am desperately trying to trace any information about my grandparents, Alexander and Isabella Middleton, (neƩ Walker). I only know that at the time of the birth of my father Richard in 1914, they lived at 189 Southwark Bridge Road. My father was brought up by another couple, not knowing they weren't his real parents till he joined the army as an apprentice aged 14. I have conducted hours of online research and a geneologist has been unable to find any further info. I just hope someone might be out there who shares ancestors with these names from this era.
Edward SANSOM born 1852
Edward Sansom was born in Lambeth (Lambeth London on census returns) in 1852. He is later living in Birmingham with his wife Mary and their children. I am hoping to trace his family another generation. There is an Edward Lewis Sansom born about the same time but this is not him. Any help appreciated.
Any information on antecedents of Thomas Hooper, possibly (1) born in Cheltenham in 1793 and (2) died Medway 1867, and his wife Harriett, born about 1798, gratefully received. Thomas worked as an attendant at Bethlehem Hospital in Southwark from at least 1822 until end of 1850's. His family may have lived in Church Street in Lambeth. Thomas and Harriett had at least 4 children, William, bap 1822 who had a daughter Jane born about 1844, Mary Ann bap 1825 and married to George Blyther, grocer, in 1859, Elizabeth Sophia bap 1827, married to Charles Hayes, prison warder at Millbank, in 1853, and possibly Thomas, aged 10 per the 1841 census. All baptisms at St Mary's Lambeth. Have not been able to trace marriage of Thomas and Harriett, nor have any further info on William bap 1822 and Thomas.
JONES/CONOLY/RICHARDS/WEST in Lambeth, Newington, Battersea
My great-great-grandfather was Edward George JONES (1844-1927?), who married Ann CONOLY in 1864. His son James (1866-c.1905; siblings Bridget, John, Alice, Arthur) married Amelia Jane RICHARDS (b.1868, daughter of Joshua RICHARDS and Phoebe Ann WEST) in 1887. Their son James Joshua JONES (1887-1915; siblings George, Frederick, Ada, John) married my grandmother Ethel May POPLE in 1914. After my great-grandfather Jamess death in c.1905, Amelia remarried Edward PRICE. I would be interested if anyone knows more about this line of Lambeth Joneses and the Richards family. They lived at various addresses in Newington, Lambeth and Battersea. Thanks, Peter.

Elizabeth HAYTHORNE (formerly married to HARLEY)
Mrs Elizabeth HAYTHORNE (died Oct 1774 aged 61; previously married to HARLEY) had a headstone in St Mary's parish, Lambeth. Her will (dated 1774, Stockwell, Lambeth) includes bequests to daughters Elizabeth (wife of John PITTS) and Catherine (wife of James PORTER). I do not know the maiden surname of Elizabeth HAYTHORNE / HARLEY. A granddaughter, Elizabeth Harley PORTER, married William WEBSTER. Please contact me if you are researching any of these people.
Charles Strutton was a Lighterman
One of my great great Aunts was the ward of Charles Strutton, a Lighterman born ca 1812 in Lambeth. He also lived latterly in Berkshire. If anyone is researching this family I would be delighted to hear from them. I believe he was married once or possibly twice, Sarah Swan was one possible spouse. His Ward, Ruth R C Keene, is listed in later census entries as Lighterman, too. (I have other relatives on different lines who were lightermen, going back to 1690.)
red mail William Brotherhood
Can anyone help with information regarding William Brotherhood born 1810 Willaston, Northamptonshire. I have him on the 1861 census living in Lambeth with wife Sarah and 3 children William born 1849, Samuel born 1853 and Mary born 1866. There is on 1851 census a William Brotherhood but the details are different so I think it is not him. Any info about William or his wife Sarah would be greatly appreciated. P
