red mail Scott - Brixton
My great grandfather was Frederick Scott, b1846(son of John and Elizabeth Scott), married Martha Eliza Smith b1856c, and their children were Amey b1875c, Willie, b1876c, Isaac b1880c, (Martha) Eliza b1882, (Eliza married 1900, to Harry Young b1878, and had at least two daughters Lil and Rose), Alfred, (my grandfather), Maud 1887c, Reuben or Robert b1889c and Henry or Walter b1890/91. My widowed grandmother Caroline Minnie (nee Pearson) immigrated to New Zealand 1924 with her children, Alfred (my dad), Len, Fred, Minnie, Ed and Jack. We have lost touch with the family in the UK and would love to make contact with any of the decendants of the family, or anyone knowing about any of the family members, particularly since 1901. JONES/CONOLY/RICHARDS/WEST in Lambeth, Newington, Battersea
My great-great-grandfather was Edward George JONES (1844-1927?), who married Ann CONOLY in 1864. His son James (1866-c.1905; siblings Bridget, John, Alice, Arthur) married Amelia Jane RICHARDS (b.1868, daughter of Joshua RICHARDS and Phoebe Ann WEST) in 1887. Their son James Joshua JONES (1887-1915; siblings George, Frederick, Ada, John) married my grandmother Ethel May POPLE in 1914. After my great-grandfather Jamess death in c.1905, Amelia remarried Edward PRICE. I would be interested if anyone knows more about this line of Lambeth Joneses and the Richards family. They lived at various addresses in Newington, Lambeth and Battersea. Thanks, Peter.

Elizabeth HAYTHORNE (formerly married to HARLEY)
Mrs Elizabeth HAYTHORNE (died Oct 1774 aged 61; previously married to HARLEY) had a headstone in St Mary's parish, Lambeth. Her will (dated 1774, Stockwell, Lambeth) includes bequests to daughters Elizabeth (wife of John PITTS) and Catherine (wife of James PORTER). I do not know the maiden surname of Elizabeth HAYTHORNE / HARLEY. A granddaughter, Elizabeth Harley PORTER, married William WEBSTER. Please contact me if you are researching any of these people.
Charles Strutton was a Lighterman
One of my great great Aunts was the ward of Charles Strutton, a Lighterman born ca 1812 in Lambeth. He also lived latterly in Berkshire. If anyone is researching this family I would be delighted to hear from them. I believe he was married once or possibly twice, Sarah Swan was one possible spouse. His Ward, Ruth R C Keene, is listed in later census entries as Lighterman, too. (I have other relatives on different lines who were lightermen, going back to 1690.)

I have him on the 1861 census living in Lambeth with wife Sarah and 3 children William born 1849, Samuel born 1853 and Mary born 1866. red mail Walter Joseph Douglas
I want to contact other descendents of Walter Joseph DOUGLAS - born in Lambeth in 1851, died 1916. Walter was a carpenter/ joiner and I believe was a foreman at the building of County Hall. He married Elizabeth SANDERS in 1874 and they had 15 children. 2 of them died in infancy. The remaining 13 were - James Thomas DOUGLAS, Walter John DOUGLAS, Ernest Frederick DOUGLAS, George Hubert DOUGLAS, May Rosa DOUGLAS (later MENZIES), Lilian Winifred DOUGLAS (later Abrahams), Harold Alfred DOGLAS, Percy Oswald DOUGLAS (my grandfather), Maurice Edgar DOUGLAS, Grace Edith DOUGLAS (later Veale), Gladys Agnes DOUGLAS, Leonard Eustace DOUGLAS and Archibald Harry DOUGLAS. I have a lot of information about some of them (especially my grandfather Percy) but also some major gaps. I am also interested in information about any of Walter Joseph's siblings - James, John, George, Elizabeth, Susan and Jane Louisa born in Lambeth at various dates between 1841 and 1857.
