Cyril LAUGHTON
Please, please, please can anyone help me find Cyril LAUGHTON or any of his kith and kin? The widowed Kate LAUGHTON nee BERRY of St Leonards on Sea, Sussex, England, named him as her step-grandson in her will dated 19 October 1972, leaving him £200 and giving his address as 10 Ewing Road, Kilbarchan, Renfrewshire, Scotland. I think this was an error for Ewing Street, in which number 10, according to the electoral roll, looks to be a lodging house but in 1972/3/4 he wasn't there. Kate had been married to a Mr LAUGHTON, nothing known about him, not even his Christian name, except that his occupation had been a tea planter. Thank you for reading this. Joan

He had several siblings Mary (May) and Elizabeth b. 15-aug-1913. Elizabeth was my grandmother and moved to the USA in the 1920's with her sister to work in the Ford family mansions. Thanks
red mail Thomas Veitch and Agnes Caldwell
Looking for ancestors and descendants of Thomas Veitch and Agnes Caldwell who married in Kilbarchan in 1780. They had three children - Margaret (1781), William (1783) and James (1785). I am descended from William Veitch who married Jean Brodie (1806). Margaret married James Blackwood (1815). Am particularly interested in the ancestors of Thomas Veitch. I have a theory that he did not come from Kilbarchan, but was born in Linlithgow. Regards Mike

Do you know where Colaba House is or was? They certainly lived there between 1871 & 1891. It may have been uninhabited in 1901 (census).I would be grateful for any information.

I am looking for information on James Giffen's family. He was born 5 Jun 1785 in Kilbarchan and died in 1863 in Ontario Canada. His parents were Robert Giffen and Janet Jamieson. Robert was born 2 Jul 1765 in Kilbarchan. Janet was born 18 Jul 1769 in Kilbarchan and died in 1827 in Ontario Canada. Janet's parents may have been John Jamieson and Agnes Erskine
red mail James Lang
I am seeking more detail about my great great grandfather James Lang who was born in Kilbarchan in 1817 to John Lang. His mother may have been Margaret Patterson or a Margaret Baslie. We have no real details of his mother and James migrated to Australia in 1837. He has an enormous family of descentants here.
