red mail markham
Hi,I am reserching my family tree and have found that the MARKHAM family ( to which I am related )originated from ELM in WISBEACH CAMBS. The earliest member I have traced is THOMAS MARKHAM born in 1818 and living at a place called Friday Bridge?. THOMAS was married to a widow called SUZANNA SEEKINGS formerly BURTON. SUZANNA was born in 1807 or there abouts and had at least 4 children to THOMAS,one of which was YOUNG MARKHAM born in 1846 who was my great, great grandfather.Going back to THOMAS,It is said that he was a blacksmith in ELM on the 1851 census but I wonder if anyone could tell me anything about THOMAS MARKHAMS father who I believe was called WILLIAM MARKHAM and in 1843 is said to be a inn keeper at ELM.I would be so happy if anyone can help me.
