Looking for family of my gf. Parents were Benjamin Bown and Annie Carter. Annie died c. 1884 and Benjamin c. 1893. Siblings were Annie born c. 1876 and Benjamin born c. 1878. Walter came to Canada as a home child in 1895. Father Benjamin and children were in the Portsea Island Workhouse for a period of time prior to Walter being sent to Canada. I believe sister Annie married a Benjamin Greenidge. Brother Benjamin had health issues, i.e. possibly epileptic. Thank you - Marilyn
St Patrick's OAS South Hayling
This school for children with chest problems was opened in 1929. My late father remembers being taken there by his mother to see her aunt, probably in the early 1930s, who was a nun there. Are there any lists of staff for these early days? Any ideas of where to start would be welcome.
