My grandad Ludd, according to family hearsay, was born in 1866,in Liverpool, but educated in Ireland,Dublin we think.Ludd told his daughter,(my mother, that he attended university ,possibly,Trinity...we really don't know. He came back to England, but until 1900 when he married my grandma,we know nothing, but have a 'gap' in our family tree.

I've narrowed my search down to this:
My great-grandmother x 5, JANE GREEN;native to Dublin, convicted at Middlesex, age 18; in 1833 for 'robbery-man',sentenced to 7 years and shipped out on the Sussex in 1834,to Parramatta's "Factory" in Australia.
At some stage, she met & married John Melvey, also convicted and sentenced to Sydney(Port Jackson)in 1831...charges were Simple grand larceny-
He had previously been married to Eleanor.
Jane and John had 2 children...Elizabeth Melvey & Charles William Deen Melvey.
Please contact me if this sounds familiar!
