red mail William Palmer born 1870 +- 5 years (May 08 Red)
Am seeking help finding my grandfather, William H. Palmer, known as Harry. He married my grandmother, Ruth Olive Lanes (aka Dorothy or Dolly) in Sheffield in 1914. They separated soon after the war so my father knows very little about him. My father believes his father was from Leicester, was about 20 years older than his mother and may even have had a family in Leicester. He was a groom and possibly worked for the 1st Earl Beatty after the War in that capacity. He may have lived in Southend-on-sea in the 1930's and may have remarried (before or after the death of Dolly Lanes in 1935). I would greatly appreciate any leads whatsoever. Thanks.

red mail Herrick family (Jan 08 Red)
Henry Herrick arrived in Mass. June 29, 1629 and married Editha Laskin. Presumably he had studied at Cambridge before departing and was son of Sir William Herrick. There is also reference to a Henry Herrick in old Commonwealth of Virginia records, but the signature does not appear to reflect a studious nature. By now, there is some debate as to where the Henry, son of William settled in USA, and some suspect Oxford's Bodleian library archives of Herrick papers might eventually reveal where Henry settled. Any clues? perhaps very old correspondence clarifying the issue?
