red mail Piers Hubert (Nov 09 Red)
am looking for information on the Piers family who were living at 13 Goldington Road (St Cuthbert's) Bedford. The only information I have is that my ggrandfather Hubert Piers age 20 a Mercantile Marine Service seaman lived there in the 1881 census with his mother Anna Piers. there were also 2 servants Martha Pendry a cook and Elizabeth Daniel servant. I am wondering was this quite a large house and also wondering if this Piers family is connected with the Piers Baronetcy of Tristernagh Abbey in the County of Westmeath Ireland? Hubert Piers on his marriage to (Cecelia Winifred Parsons in 1897) the certificate it says his father who is deceased was William Stapleton Piers (Gentleman). Hubert was also born in St Dinan France. But I have also found out that in another census it says Hubert was born in Mullinger, Ireland which is where the Baroncy of Tristernagh was. I am wondering if his father William Stapleton Piers was the illigitimate son of Sir John Piers and that is why I am finding it difficult to follow as nothing is written about the son.... only the daughters that were legitimate

red mail LETTING James (Sep 09 Red)
Am trying to find info on a James Letting. He would have been born c1798 possibly Ampthill/Millbrook or surrounding villages. In 1818 he was tried at Hertford Assizes and subsequently transported for life, arriving in Tasmania 1819. Looking to find parents and any siblings etc. to enable me to link him to my tree. No further info other than him being in Tasmania still in 1824. So don't know what happened next.
