Ball Family
(Nov 09 Green)
I am trying to find the whereabouts of Ball family after the 1901 census.
In 1901 Woolston Ball (1866) born Ilkeston Yorkshire - his wife
Charlotte (1870) born Derdon Warwickshire - children
Emily A (1891) born Nuneaton Warwickshire,
Beatrice E (1893) born Altofts Yorkshire,
Nora E (1895) born Altofts Yorkshire,
Harry W (1898) born Altofts Yorkshire,
living 16 Lee Brigg, Altofts, Yorkshire.
Woolston is listed as blind 8 yrs (I have been told he was blinded in the Boer War .
I cannot find any marriage/census/military records etc for them.
I do have Nora Ellen on the 1911 census living with her Grandmother (Mary Ann Ball), assisting in the family Butchery business. living 40 Church Road, Altofts, Yorkshire. But she is the only one I can find any info on at present.
Does anyone know where you can research about the Boer Wars as I as yet am having difficulties.
Thank you in advance for any help at all.

BROADHEAD
(Aug 09 Green)
Benjamin Broadhead born around 1809 in Wakefield (according to census entries) married Ellen. Their daughter Selina was born in 1844 and on the census returns it also says place of birth was Wakefield but I cannot find Selina's entry on the birth registers - the only Selina Broadhead I can find around that date was born in Sheffield. i cannot find the family on the 1841 census, and on the 1851 census they lived in York. They later moved to Goole where Selina married Joseph Smart from Louth, Lincs in 1863. Can anyone help me find a record of Selina's birth please? Thanks
