George Grisdale
(Jan 10
Red)
I am trying to trace family of George Grisdale, born 1863 in Ulverston. I'm assuming he moved south as there is a marriage in Petworth, West Sussex. I'm especially looking for details on their family - Percy b 1899 and Edith May b 1900 in Horsham. Earlier or subsequent family may be spelt Grisdale or Grisedale

Jane Cooper (Wardley/Tyson) and Halsall link
(Nov 09 Green)
Looking for information about Jane Cooper, born Jane (poss.Elizabeth Jane) Wardley about 1806-1811, in Cark, (Cartmel/Flookburgh). Married Nathaniel Tyson, abt 1825 and William Cooper abt 1841. 1861 census Saltcoats, has adopted orphan Elizabeth J Smethers (Smithers) living with her. She continued to live with Elizabeth (later Halsall) and/or Elizabeth's children 1871 Sandside, InnKeeper, 1881 1 Cox Street, Ulverston, until she died abt 1891. She was obviously a big influence on EJ Smethers/Halsall life as her children bore the middle names of Cooper, Wardley and ?Hardy?. Any information would be helpful.

It seems this is a common surname in the area. I have an Agnes Postlethwaite who may have come from here before she married a Mackenzie in Stockton on Tees. Ring any bells with anyone?
