The Lavender family lived & worked in Thatcham in the mid 1800's working in the -paper making industry. Charles Lavender & his wife Angelique Mangeol had many children. All have been accounted for except their son Napoleon Lavender, born 1835. He joined the Royal Marines & was last known to be as a Private on the ship Hiberium based in Malta according to the 1861 census. What happened to Napoleon Lavender?

red mail New Inn, Chapel Street, Thatcham (Dec 07 Red)
I am looking for some more information about the New Inn, Chapel Street, Thatcham as ancestors lodged there in 1891 when working as market gardeners. I beleive the Inn Keeper at the time was Henry Goodman (and his wife Sarah). Is the inn still standing? Where is it located? What type of establishment is/was it? If it was demolished, when and why? Are any photographs available? Any information concerning both the Inn and the Inn keeper at the time would be much appreciated.
