Andrews, Rebecca born c.1811
(Oct 09 Green)
I know precious little of Rebecca! The 1851 census for Wooburn Green states she was born in Taplow and now aged 40. She's the head of the family, an unmarried needlewoman. She has a son, Richard (Andrews Stannett) aged 11. Richard's birth certificate gives father as Richard Stannett. Rebecca Andrews and Richard Stannett were not married. That's all I know - any info much welcome.

Addison, Annie
(Aug 05
Red)
Looking for information about Annie Addison (born in Scotland) who spent her later years as the housekeeper at Cliveden estate (approx. 1900 - 1935). Her mother was Elizabeth or Betsy Tough. As far as I know she never married. She is supposed to have been buried at the Astor family cemetery.

AUSTIN
(May 05
Red)
Hi,
I am looking for any info on the Austin family of Taplow, Berks.
In particular, Lydia Austin who, on the 1851 was listed as a Beer House Keeper.
Her daughter Frances, married a Nathaniel Hawkins of Gloucestershire, who was a Gt.gt.grandfather of mine and I would like to find out more about the Austin side of the family.
Frances and Nathaniel were listed as living with Lydia on the 1851 census.
thanks

Blackwell, John
(Dec 04
Red)
John Blackwell, born 1788, emigrated to Tasmania in 1819 as a free settler. He was a tanner by trade and last known English address was Bermondsey. He called his farm in Tasmania 'Taplow' which suggests he had links there.
