red mail Kings of Biggleswade (Jan 09 Red)
I am seeking information about Thomas King, wife Emma (Catlin), sons Arthur, Felix, John and Caleb. They are found in the 1861 census. However Thomas is not listed. I did not find them in the 1871 census. Caleb married Mary ann Gregory in 1880 then went to the USA.

green mail Freeman (Revised Oct 08 Green)
Edward Freeman lived in Stotfold and Caldecote in late 1500s early 1600s. Had 2 wives and 6 or 7 sons - one was a cleric at Cambridge, another, John, became haberdasher in London. His son Samuel and family emigrated to Massachusetts in 1630. Would like to share information on the family.

I am researching the following families with a Stotfold connection: Knott, Hyde/Hide, Millard, Dilley, Fisher, Gotherd and Ellis. My great grandmother was Mary Ann Howard nee Knott b. 1874 daughter of Elias Knott and Phoebe Hyde. Any information on any of these families would be very welcome. Also I would appreciate any pictures of the Green, Fen End or of straw plaiters and ploughmen.

Back in 1851 my ancestors lived in 'Rectory House' Caldecote, then in circa 1875 my Great Grandfather James and his wife Ellen moved to Stotfold were they lived in a terraced cottage on the green, following this their son Thomas my Granfather and his family moved to 7 The Avenue where my father Bruce Clark was born. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has any information, photogramhs or conections to the Clark's or Rectory House.

My father was born at 18 Norton Rd, Stotfold, in 1939. Bit of a mystery as his mother was from London. Would love to know why they were there and who they were staying with. Were they evacuated?

Am seeking information on Reginald Bruce Pateman,believed born c1888 and commonly known as 'Bruce'. Also believe he owned or ran a slaughter house in Stotfold. Served Bedfordshire Yeomanry in WW1. Any information appreciated.
