Any, lived in stony stratford in 1942 and was my father's girlfriend. His name was David Sloane. He lodged there and worked for a Mr Cowley, for a short time -undertaker on the High Street. My father had dementia, and kept asking for Amy -the love of his life. He also told me I have a half-brother -Amy's son to dad! Can anyone help? also he kept saying "Amy Weedon" -don't know if this was her surname or place! She did travel to Manchester about 1948/9 but dad had married my mum by then!

However he appears minus the Holdsworth name on the 1881 census but on his sons birth and marriage certificates he appears as William Holdsworth Cox. Charles was born in the town and all evidence shows that he lived in 2 or 24 Workhouse Yard in Stony Stratford all his life until his death in 1876. His wife was Ann Hall and they had at least six children. My researches show no father,mother or date of admission to the town workhouse. Can anyone help my search or give me references for information on the Stony Stratford workhouse and its admissions or have you any information on Charles Peaks born 1801.
