red mail Johns family
I am researching Johns which is my grandfathers side from Stackpole Elidor, Pembrokeshire. My grandfather is William Arthur Johns born in 1911. He has a half sister Gladys Coles, a sister Selina Elizabeth born 1910 and a brother Wilfred born 1913. His father is Arthur George Johns born in 1875 and married Ann Selina Coles in 1909. Arthur George Johns father is David Johns, but that is all I know. I have only found records going back to the 1901 census which shows Alfred as having a sister Elizabeth born in 1880 and a widowed mother named Mary born in 1838 in Angle, Pembrokeshire. I am at the brick wall stage in my research and hope I can find some help in this community. Many thanks
red mail Sidney William Phillips
Looking for info on Sidney William Phillips born 25 March 1887 to Mary Phillips. In 1881 his grandparents Anne B.1831 & William Phillips B.1829 Clarbeston were living at Marledge Cottage, Stackpole Elidor, with his Uncle James B1877 Stackpole Elidor & Aunt Anne B1869 Boulston. 1891 census - Anne his grandmother & his Uncle James & Sidney aged 4 were living in the Parish of St Michaels. Pembroke. 1901 census- Anne (widower), James & Sidney are all living together at 'Brannis'/Brawns Cottage, St Marys Pembroke. Sidney is down as 'son' in this census and a errand boy. His Uncle is a Tanyard Worker. Sidney William went on marry in Bristol in 1937 to Doris May Walden. But nothing is known between 1901 and 1937 or of the past before. He was known as Loftus but we are not sure where this even originates from. Many thanks
