I am looking for any Gowers living in Slapton from 1720 to mid 1800s. I have found Thomas Gower married to Mercy Smith 1753 at St Leonards Buckingham Their son was Thomas b.1758, d.1791 who was married to Sarah Pantlin in 1782 in Slapton. Their children were born in Slapton. James b. 1785 , Sarah b. 1788,Thomas b.1791,Mercy b.1792 and Elizabeth b. 1793.
Thomas b. 1791 married Sarah Read in 1809 at Edlesborough. Their children were James b.1833, Jane b.1826 and Thomas b.1829
I also have a William Gower born in Slapton in 1811 but am not sure whether he was born to Thomas with Sarah Pantlin or Thomas with Sarah Read - it could be either!
Jane Gower married John London Bolton in Ivinghoe in 1844.
Any branches out there? ..... a little leaf would do
