any info please on the Barker family, who lived in Poplar early 1900s. Parents were James and Emily, children were Sarah, Violet, Grace, Ada, Emily, James and Albert. I believe they lived around the Southill Street area. I've no idea what happened to the family after 1901 census. Can anyone help?

I am trying to trace decendents of William Miller whose name was originally Muller/Mueller. He was a ships painter and died of lead poisoning ( they used to grind their own pigments in those days ). His daughter married a Mr Lucas and their daughter, Maud, married Richard Blanchard,my Grandfather.There may be a Jewish connection or other reason for the name change.They lived in the East End of London,probably in the Poplar/Bow area. Any info will be appreciated.

red mail Arthur Bond Prisoner of war 1940-1945 Stalag XXB (Aug 09 Red)
Arthur Bond, was born in 1918 and served with The Royal Northumberland Fusiliers in WWII. He was a dispatch driver and captured in the retreat of Dunkirk in 1940 and sent to Stalag XXB for 4 years. As he was a butcher he was put to work in the local abbotoir. He was also on the Long March. If anyone has more information about him or anyone remembers him, please can you contact me

Was Edwin a relation of yours? I am trying to build our family tree, and I am stuck. He was born in Poplar in 1906 and sadly died in Brighton 31st December 1971. Shekle is an unusual name but I can't find anyone who has ever heard of him. Was he born in the workhouse? Was he married elsewhere? Was Edwin not his real name?

Info for my uncle Ernest Matthew Moore born at 76 Broomfield St. Poplar Died in bombing raid at Broomfield shelter on 28 July 1941. Home on leave from the Army. He was 24 at time of death.
