green mail Nance and Taylor families mid 1700's (Nov 09 Green)
The question re Alderwoods and Nance has now been superceded with the discovery of Susanna's parents William Nance and Mary (nee Taylor). They appear not to have been born in Padstow and William (who had a brother Richard) may have moved there with their parents, mother thought to be a Susanna also. Richard married a Sarah John(s).At various times they appear to have run the Ship Inn and a watermill, also possibly a brewery though this may have been part of the Ship Inn. Any help on their place of origin welcome
