red mail Robert Sulman (Jul 09 Red)
Both grandsons of Robert, though living in Clerkenwell married wives from Olney in 1808 & 1812, it is believed through family connections there. Robert himself may have moved from there to London along with members of the Parrott and Panton families, marying Sarah Panton there in 1752. All had earlier connections with Gloucestershire, but little is known for certain.

I am looking for information on the Spencer family from the Emberton / Olney areas. Charles Spencer ran the 2 Coopers Inn at 72 High St, Olney and was registered there with the family in 1881, 1891, 1901. He was also an agricultural engineer whilst his sons worked in th shoe industry.

Does anyone know of Hugh Maltby who died in 1846 in Olney? Apparently he was born c.1768, and lived at one time in Milk street, Cheapside, London. I have an ancester named 'Hugh maltby'Spence, and I'm trying to find out where the name came from. Polly.
