Entries around
Baxter and Bennett
Gladys Baxter (husbands grandmother) was born in 1904 in Oldham Union Workhouse. She was born to a single mum Elizabeth Baxter. She says she she is 33. (Workhouse records) So that would make her born in 1871. Despite extensive searching 1911 census I can't find a match. I have found Gladys on school records 1914 this indicates father or guardian is James and is living at 86 Franklin Street. Elizabeth left with Gladys a month or so after her birth.. It is Elizabeth we are trying to locate, (possible Scottish connection.

red mail Ada Winterbottom
Looking for the parents of Ada WINTERBOTTOM. Ada was born in Royton (near Oldham) about 1911 if my research is correct. I recall meeting Ada, her husband Billy McCORMICK, and her son Brian McCORMICK at their home near Birmingham in the 1960s thru early 1980s. Brian later lived in Solihull with his wife and two sons (Ian and James). I have found all the Winterbottoms - there were 8 born between 1856 and 1880, but don't know which of them is Ada's parent. I think it might be Herbert, Henry, or William. Thanks.

Looking for information regarding my maternal grandparents, Clara Corcoran and James Henry Wilson who resided at 29 Oldham Road, Oldham, Failsworth, some time around the 1915 to 1920's, (dates are approximate). My Grandfather James, was a tram conductor. My mother Edna, their daughter, has got a birth document dated with the year 1919 on it due to a 'Young person looking for work'.
