I have traced a family of Higgs back to Oakley where they lived at least for the first part of the 19th century. One of them was a Higgler and Poulterer in the 1840s. Is any other member researching this family

red mail Hopcroft family (Oct 06 Red)
Im looking for information about John Hopcroft (farmer). John and his wife had serveral children including Rosa Lizzie Hopcroft (b1871). In the 1891 census Rosa was a Parlour maid in Kensington Gardens Sq, London. She Married James Milligan, Private, Coldstream Guards in 1898 at St Bartholomews, London and moved to Ashton-Under-Lyne around 1900, where he became a policeman. Rosa and James had two children, James(b1899) and Mabel(b1900) Mabel married William Ingham in 1926. Rosa and James are my Great Grandparents. Thanks, Simon

red mail Hawes of Addingrove Farm (Jun 05 Red)
Looking for contacts re my great Grandparents John and Harriet Hawes. They lived at Addingrove Farm and also had the Bakery in Oakley and a grocery store. They had 9 sons. My grandfather was the eldest son and joined the Navy aged about 11. He settled in Australia. Harriet died c 1911 and is buried in St Marys Graveyard at Oakley. Some of the other boys names were Edwin, Charles John and Cecil. Any contact would be appreciated. Geraldine.
