green mail Nellie White Mortimer Berkshire (Revised Apr 09 Green)
My grandmother Nellie White was in service as a domestic servant for a family in Mortimer or surrounding area. She was 14yrs old (1905) when she was first employed there and stayed until approx: 1913. She is not listed on the 1911 census so perhaps the family were away and she was with them.

red mail Richard & Mary Roake. (Jun 06 Red)
Can anyone tell me the name of the parish church in Mortimer. My father while writing about his family said that his grandfather & grandmother, Richard & Mary Roake of "The Kennels", Bath Road, Tilehurst, Reading between 1850 and 1900, were buried in a churchyard in Mortimer. He said his grandad Roake lived into his 80's but although I can find many death records of "Richard Roake" I cannot find the one for my great grandad.

red mail Rowland & Gertrude SHARPE (Jan 06 Red)
My great Uncle and Aunt lived in the house adjoining the Church/Church hall for many years. Rowland only moving into the Home for the Blind in his late 80's/90's. He died late 1970's. Does anyone have further information about his family or photos regarding these years.
