Desperately searching for any information on the O'Keefe famous boxing family as they are my great great uncles and would like to know more about my roots.
red mail Snowdon/Dalking
I am searching for a Robert Snowdon, believed born 1864, the first mention of him that is official is on his marriage certificate where he gives his age as 21 and his father as Thomas Snowdon, Police Constable, deceased. The next mention is the 1891 census when he gives his age as 26 and his birthplace as Scotswood Northumberland. However, the only Robert Snowdon I can find is one born to an Ann Snowdon who is living in Morpeth Workhouse. OK I can accept that he lied on the previously mentioned certificate and census, but where is he in the time between birth and marriage? He is later shown as having added Dalking to his name, and my mother remembers him as Robert Dalking Snowdon. Anyone any ideas?
