On the 1901 census is listed morfryr griffiths male aged 16 living in merthyr I cannot find any other census record for morfryr and wondered if this was a welsh way of saying another name. It says he was a nephew of david and ann james . i am looking for a connection with my great grandfather john derwent griffiths who married mary ann thomas in 1894 in swansea.

Hi. Looking for information on David Thomas bn abt 1857in Merthyr Tydfil. His sons were Thomas Thomas bn abt 1881, John Thomas bn abt 1882 and Morgan Thomas bn abt 1896. All in Merthyr Tydfil. In 1901 I think they lived at 3 Sunny Bank, Brecon Rd Merthyr Tydfil. I also think that Elizabeth -nee name unknown - was David's wife at that time. Any help would be much appreciated.

Have been trying gain some information re: the origins of my mother Mary Teresa Josephine O'Neill. Born Tramore/Waterford 1905 of John and Mary O'Neill. Moved to Merthyr some years before WW1. John worked in a local pit with his brother Lawrence. Lawrence killed in WW1, John severely wounded. My mother had eight sibs, only names known to me, Danny, Larence, John, Bridie, Eileen. Lived Gellifaelog terrace, the crucial part of which no longer exists. The family must be considerably dispersed.
