green mail Groves- Maidenhead (Revised Sep 09 Green) Maidenhead
W're trying to find out about my grandad's father (surname Groves, first name possibly Frederick/Fredric, middle name Cecil) who left his mother (Elizabeth Emily Hawkins) after the birth of their third child. They lived in Maidenhead and was a plmuber for Maidenhead Council. He could possibly have re-married and had more children. My Grandad is 88 now so they would have been living in Maidenhead around the early 1900's. I found an entry for a Fredric Groves living in Bray aged 16, Berkshire and who lived at 20 Princess Street and worked as a labourer in the paper mill. Not sure if this is the same man?
