red mail origns (Apr 09 Red)
I am trying to trace a William ROBUCK , born circa 1571 He had two sons and a daughter ( Roger, born 1595, Richard. born 1599, and Katherin. born 1601. All were born in Mansfield)Can find no records of William`s birth ,marriage,or death in the local Church registers, so presume he must have been born somewhere else before moving to Mansfield - probably East Yorkshire. Any help appreciated

green mail Carlins of Barn Lane, Mansfield (Apr 09 Green)
Hi, does anyone have any information relating to this family headed by Thomas Carlin born in Eastwood in 1864? His wife Mary Ellen, or children: Isaac (Ike), Florence, Henry, Laura, Samuel, Earnest, Minnie (my grandmother), Verity (Tilly) who moved to Blackpool, and I think, Eva who married a Slaney and whose son Raymond was an army captain. The family had a 'club' of some sort on Barn Lane in Mansfield. Some of the children, I don't know which, had newsagent shops in and around Mansfield, also an off-license near the Brown Cow pub also in Mansfield. I Believe that one of the female children emigrated to South Africa. Many thanks

red mail Wingfield/Challoner Family (Mar 09 Red)
I'm looking for information on my Grandparents Richard Wingfield and Margaret Challoner, I believe Richard was born in Mansfield in 1911 and his parents were Alfred Henry Wingfield and Annie Froggatt. As for Margaret, I have no clues but have found a few possibles from Walsall and Ellesmere. I would love any information on my Grandparents because I have hit a brick wall on this part of my tree. Margaret and Richard had a son on 21st August 1953, he was born in Hucknall and was a cabinet maker but later joined the Army. The Wingfield's lived at 44 Whyburn Street, Hucknall when my Dad was born but later moved to 55 Lime Tree Road. Richard was a Builders Labourer in 1953 but later became a Coal Miner, I was told he died many years before I was born in 1971. I am sure someone somewhere can remember my Grandparents or my Dad. Thank you in advance.

green mail Ann Dawn, artist (Jan 09 Green)
Seeking any information on Ann Dawn (1808 - 1866) who married John Paulson in 1831, they had one son George William Paulson born in Mansfield 1832. Ann became a successful artist especially when painting flowers and fruit, some of her paintings were exhibited in London. She also painted local views of the town and portraits. I have visited Mansfield Museum where some of her work can be seen but I would be most interested to see any other examples. We do have, in the family, a portrait of Great Aunt Mary Allen, nee Paulson, which I believe is by Ann Dawn. Do have a look at her pictures when you are in Mansfield.
