Aclands of Littleham near Exeter (Aug 09 Green)
My family descends from John Agland b:~1724; m: 16April 1750 in Littleham to Jane Pine b:~1725. The family name changed to Acland at the next generation, and has sometimes been misspelled as Ackland. I have considerable information about this direct line of descent, and would be interested in sharing data with anyone else interested in this Parish and family

Hi I am researching John Hayes who live in Little Bicton Place from abt 1841. He was Married to Margaret and according to the I.G.I they were born & married about 1833 in Little Bicton, but according to the censuses (1841-1891) they both came from Ireland(no county given. The family moved to Shaldon and live at Riverside. Between 1852-61 the family moved to Hoose, (Now Hoylake, Wirral). They had 7 children John, James, William, Margaret, Ellen, Mary & Catherine all born between 1837-1852. When the family moved to Wirral the three boys stayed (I presume as their names do not appear in 1861 with their parents only the girls. I may have found William's marriage to a Ada Jennetta Carr in East Stonehouse in 1870 which I have not confirmed. William's occupation is given as mariner, no sign of John or James. Any help will be gratefully appreciated.

Dixon family (May 06 Red)
I am hoping to find any information on Robert Dixon, seaman, whose daughter Elizabeth gave Littleham as her residence when she married in Northumberland in 1900 at the age of 30-33. She was apparently born in North Shields, and another family name was possibly Angus. Has anyone come across them in their research.

Do the addresses: Wanhills Row, South Street & Bicton Street still exist? These are all taken from the 1851,61 & 71 census returns for my branch of the Prouse family in Littleham, Exmouth.

I have, so far, got back as far as John Prouse b. 1785; Littleham, Exmouth, who married Jane Acland b. Sept 1785; Littleham, Exmouth. I am particularly interested in any info about this John Prouse's parents & further back. The line I have traced through to my mother-in-law is through their son, Richard (b.Nov 1822, Littleham, Exmouth). I know this branch of the Prouse family lived in this area for at least 150yrs. Any further info would be very gratefully received.
