My ancestor was John Elvidge (b. 20/3/1859) who came to NZ in 1879. His parents were George and Ann (Wilson) who married at Norton, Derby on 26/9/1850. They had 2 other children, Louis and Ruth Anna. I'd love to know more! John.

Hugh Cullen - Sheffield (Feb 04 Red)
Doing research for a book on my grandfather-ALBERT HUGH CULLEN. He was born in London 1893 and was 1 of 9 children (10?). I think his father was HUGH CULLEN (1881 census has family residing at 4 Alexandra Cottages) My great grandfather worked for Mappin and Webb in Sheffield and they moved the family to London where my grandfather was born. The other children's names were ALICE, ADA, NELL, HARRY, ELIZABETH, OPHELIA, JESSIE AND ROSE. After both parents died one of his sisters took him to Dr. Barnando's Home and he was shipped to Ontario Canada and became an indentured survent. Years later the family reunited and some names I have are George & Ophelia Terry (their children's names were Olive, Helen, Jessie, Ann (or Jessie Ann), Syliva.Also have name of a Douglas Hastings, Jesse Rye. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks Dee
