Lickley family from Little Ouseburn (Sep 07 Red)
I am looking for a Matthew Lickley who according to the 1841 census was living in Addle cum Eccup and married to a lady called Sarah. This couple had 9 chuildren that later census records say were born in Little Ouseburn. Looking for this couple I believe his wife was probably Sarah Pears from Sutton on the Forest. I have been searching for the birth of Matthew Lickley based on his age when he died in 1844, and I believe he was born circa 1799. The only record that appears to fit this is the birth of a Matthew Lickley in Kilburn, Nth Yorkshire to a Thomas Lickley and his wife Jane. There were also 2 daughters, Ann and Hannah born to this couple. If there is anyone who has been looking at the Lickley family from this area I would love to hear from you as I have hit a very solid brick wall with Matthew Sarah and their parents. Sarah Lickley nee Pears married a Richard Flowers in 1846 and the couple moved nearer to Leeds.
