green mail Brandham, Brandam (Aug 08 Green)
Joseph Brandham or Brandam was born in 1818/19 to Joseph and Elizabeth Brandam and christened at All Saints in Leighton Buzzard. The IGI gives him also a brother Thomas and a sister Eliza. I've been unable to find any other record of the family after that in censuses or FreeBMD, except for young Joseph, who joined the army and was in Montreal, Canada in 1841 and ended up in New Zealand. Did the family emigrate? Where to? Any information on them would be much appreciated. Mary

They produced several children, namely Fanny 1850,Sara 1842, Thomas 1846,William 1845,Ann 1839. There maybe further children too that I have not yet been able to confirm. Thomas married Eliza Florey born about 1849 in Launton Oxfordshire and they were the parents of my father William Thomas Bignell born in 1880 at "The stables," market street Paddington. Eliza is buried in Swansea South Wales where my father was serving as a police constable in the Swansea police force. He was cremated in Plymouth in Oct 1960 aged 79 years.
