red mail St Mary's RC Orphanage for Girls Richmond Hill
I am seeking information about St Mary's Orphanage Richmond Hill. Priscilla Hudson dob 1891 and her sisters Maria and Winifred were listed in 1901 census as being there as orphans. Parents Jesse Hudson (1856-1917) and Catherine nee Mcintyre(1855-1904) were listed in 1901 census as living at 69 Westgate Keighley. I believe this was a overcrowded poor area also called the Pinfold. Does anyone understand why the girls would be listed as orphans when parents were still alive? Was St Mary's like a school or alternate workhouse accomdation?
red mail Thomas Albert Culley
I am looking for any information about my grandfather, Thomas Albert Culley. He married Georgina Hone Ward in about 1928 and they had a daughter Nora Culley. born in 1932. They lived in the Kirkstall/ Burley area of Leeds. He left the family home when Nora was about 3 years old and there was, to the best of my knowledge, no further contact. When Georgina died in 1953 she was stated to still be the wife of Thomas Albert.
Trying to discover what became of Teresa Mather nee Martin. This is the last sighting I can find There are possibly two other children to the marriage, Elizabeth c1882 and Joseph c1883 . In 1891 Thomas, Elizabeth and Joseph are boarding at 12 Fountain Grove, Kirkstall, Leeds Thomas Arthur went on to marry Charlotte Jowett during the fourth quarter of 1908 but I can find no death record for Teresa his first wife
