By 1861 his father was dead and Septimus had moved with his mother back to her birth place of Kingston upon Hull. He spent most of the rest of his life there working in marine engineering. William JONES, father and son in HULL around 1770-1790 ?
William Jones (a son of Jacob ben Naftali (Fulda) Ha-Cohen), probably born in 1750-51 in FULHAM, left KINGSTON-upon-HULL around 1790 (exact date Unk) towards Denmark, where he settled as a merchant in the Grocery line in Copenhagen. In England before, he seems to have been a merchant in porcelain ("china"). He was married with a certain Elizabeth (Unk surname, place and date of marriage also Unk) and when he left he had at least one son, also named William, born in HULL in 1777-78. Any "clue" in order to confirm these data, perhaps also to give additional details would delight me : I am indeed a direct descendant of one of his brothers, Jonathan (who died in 1829 at BRUSSELS), and I try to collect largest possible number of elements of this story of the family. Maybe one day I'll write a book ! Thank you everyone !

Plane crash into house, 1943. Broadly.
Does anyone remember a plane crashing into a house on Wold Road, Hull in about 1943 ? There were rumours that 2 British, or Polish airmen were aboard the plane, one was apparently found in the bath.... some of the family were at the pictures I believe, one person a young man. ( a friend/ neighbour was in the house, and not injured. we lived on Moorehouse Road,a tenfoot between M. Road, and W.Road. I was about 6 or 7 yrs. old. The plane almost clipped our chimney top, we thought we"d had it ! any information appreciated. Ken .
