I was born at Oakley House probably quite early in its usage as a hospital if that is what it was as my birth was registered as number 5. I would appreciate any information on Oakley House, how it was used during the war and the evacuation of pregnant mothers to it for birth. Surname Ayley

I am trying to ascertain the history of Oakley House, Frilford Heath, Berkshire, prior to its use by Dr. Barnardo's between 1946 and 1970. I am aware that it was a military hospital, but cannot find our specifics etc. Any information would be greatly received.
