I need more information about the family below. The son, Palmer, moved to Darlington, Co Durham sometime between 1851 and 1854. He was my great, great grandfather. William Newton was born in c1788 at Exton, Rutland and died in 1866, aged 78 years, also at Exton in Rutland, living his whole life in the village of Exton. He also worked his whole life as an agricultural labourer. He married Ann (unknown surname) on an unknown date at an unknown place. She was born in c1784 at Stamford , Lincolnshire and she died in 1871, aged 87 years, at Exton in Rutland. They had the following children: 1. William Newton, born in c1818 at Exton, Rutland. 2. red mail Bell (8/02-10/03 Red)
I am trying to trace several families who lived in Exton during the 18th and 19th century. Are you descended from John Bell who married Mary Revell in Langham in 1799 but moved to Exton and had 6 children: - Frances born 1800 and married John Bradshaw, 1 known son - John; William born 1803 and married Elizabeth Bryant, 11 children; John born and died in 1805; Henry born 1806 and died 1814; Mary Ann born 1808 and married John Brian, Mary Ann died in 1840, 4 months after her wedding; Elizabeth born 1810, died 1823; Are you descended from Frances or William?

red mail I Need Help! Hibbitt Family (8/02-10/03 Red)
I need some HELP! I am related way, way back to the Hibbitt Family of Exton, Rutland. In particular, if you follow the line through Luke Hibbitt (1835 ñ 1925) and Sarah Ann Rudkin, (Luke was my great, great Grandfather), going back through to Luke Hibbitt (1806 ñ 1894) and Ann Rudkin, back further to Luke Hibbitt (1776 ñ 1830) and Ann Tyler, back even further to Luke Hibbitt (1744 ñ 1798) and Elizabeth Newman, and finally to John Hybot (1690 ñ 1763) and Ann Tubbs. My father is John Arthur Hibbitt (1932), his father (my grandfather) was John Cecil Hibbitt, whose father in turn, (my great grandfather) was John Thomas Hibbitt (1868), and his father being Luke Hibbitt (1835 ñ 1925 ñ my great, great grandfather), the line then follows all the way through back to John Hybot and Ann Tubbs as above. John Hybot married twice more, in fact, Ann Tubbs was his third wifeÖ He first married Sarah Peeregood in 1712 and had three children, she died in 1719. Anyone have any information on this marriage and family line up to the present? Then he married Mary Bottom in 1720 and had three, possibly four children, again has anyone got any information on this marriage and family line up to the present? I have...

Thomas TYERS (b c.1823 in Wing, son of Thomas Tyers) married Frances SPEED (b c.1821 in Exton, daughter of James Speed). Edwin Griffin Martin and Emma Tyers married in 1891 in Limpsfield, Surrey (where they, and several other Exton people, worked in a children's home). (Emma was by then the widow of Richard Tyler). They returned to Exton and had five children: Frances b c.1893, Thomas Edwin b 1894 (my grandfather), Caroline b c.1898, Hilda b c.1900 and Emma b 1901, all born in Exton.
