George and Walter Street
(Feb 09 Green)
From census details I have a George Street and a Walter Street, both born 1866, in the Epping area, possibly at Theydon Bois.
Their parents are Thomas Street, born 1844 at Loughton, and Hope Smith, born 1845 in Hainault Forest.
George married Matilda Gleed and Walter married Phoebe Lee.
However, I cannot find any record of their births.
Can anyone help?
Thank you.

Went family
(Aug 08
Red)
I am trying to trace members of the Went family. My grandmother was in service, I believe, to a 'Went' household in the early 1900's. (She was born in 1895). I would very much appreciate some help on this.
Thank you.

FOSTERS George and Mary
(Mar 08
Red)
I am looking for any relatives of the above couple who may still be in the Epping/Chingford or general Essex area. George Foster b 1840 was a career serviceman in the Royal Marine Light Infantry from 1859 until 1881. Whilst based at Forton Barracks in Portsmouth he had married Mary Rowland b 1849 from Alverstoke. By the time they moved to Epping (6 Queens Terrace Grove) they had 5 children - they eventually had 10 before they left Epping. The other thing I would dearly love to know is the occupation of George Foster while in Epping. The 1891 census says he is a "Constable, Central Marker(t)". This means nothing to me nor apparently to the museum in Essex! He was an accomplished horseman and I assumed he might be a Forest Ranger. Someone suggested that "Central Marker" might be something to do with the various Markers around Epping Forest and I know there is a Central Marker where the Meridian line runs through the Forest. Can anyone help me with this and possibly any descendants of the family still lurking in the Forest. I would be most grateful. (I think George Foster may have been widowed whilst living in Epping - I have found a death entry for 1892 for a Mary Rowland - the age is correct and the registration of death was at Colchester. Can anyone give me a clue as to the nearest C of E church or graveyard to the Queens Grove Terrace address please.
