red mail Local Wheeler ties! (Feb 06 Red)
Born in Elstead 1809. William Wheeler was my G.G. Grandfather who subsequently went to Water Lane Richmond and his wife Frances returned to Frensham, Surrey around about 1853. Has anyone gone back further in this line?

red mail Collyer of Elstead (Sep 05 Red)
My Collyer connections in Elstead extend back to the 1600s, and also have strong links with the neighbouring village of Frensham. My gt gt grandfather James Collyer moved from Frensham to Elstead in 1855/56 and apart from a short break there has been at least one member of the family living in the village ever since. I am interested in any Collyer links with Elstead or Frensham.

I am researching my mother's family who came from Elstead. Whilst the main names being researched are Ellis and Reffold, there are so many links with other families that the whole thing is becoming something of a one place study so contact from anyone with family interests in Elstead (particularly 19th Cent) would be welcome.
