Seeking further information on the ancestors & descendants of James West 'Woodreeve', a son of Richard West & Sarah Duke who m. 21 Oct. 1781 Lurgashall. James c. 2 Dec. 1798 Easebourne m. Elizabeth Hills 13 Sep. 1824 Lodsworth. Children Hannah, John, James, Thomas, Elizabeth, William, Richard, Luke, Ruth & Sarah. By 1837 James had moved to Henley Hill when it is recorded the Parish of Fernhurst held a 'Beating the Bounds' which is an ancient old custom going back many centuries & in which he was one of the 32 Recorders & Walkers and 'Reeve of the Manor'. I would like to find out which manor, any help would be very much appreciated.

husband's father came to Canada with his family in 1919. He was a baker who had bakery in midhurst in house in centre of road which became a school and is now part of the spreadeagle near the duck pond. He also supplied baked good to the spreadeagle hotel. He married into Robinson family. Any family members in area?

Looking for information on a William Enticknap, possibly from Easebourne who married Hannah Prior in Easebourne in 1809. William died some time before 1825. william and Hannah had 7 children: Maria (1809), Thomas (1810), James (1814), Sarah (1816) George (1818), Ruth (1820), William (1824), all probably born in North Ambersham (Bexly Hill). thomas and George are known to have emmigrated to Canada.

Does anyone have any information regarding Cowdray. My greatgrandfather James was born and married in Midhurst(1850&1872) then moved to Singleton.His father I believe died when he was six but his grandfather James lived to be 82,b1792.Can't seem to go back any further.

Does anyone know why Glazier Lane is so called? I come from a line of Glaziers originating from Easebourne and was suprised to find that our name is also the name of a local road - would love someone to through some light on it!
