Flynn Methlan/Murphlin House Dumbarton
(Nov 09
Red)
My grandparents James Dominic Flynn and Annie (nee Murphy) lived at Methlan Park in Dumbarton in the late 1920s til 1931 when they died and the estate was sold to the salvation army. I have some info from the local library on the house (which was called Murphlin House during their ownership) but would be keen to find anyone with knowledge of the huose or family at that time. The family business was wine merchants and several branches of the family were involved in that business in and around Glasgow until I believe the 1980s

Thomas Pimperton and Agnes Rinder
(May 08 Green)
Looking for information on ancestors and descendants of Thomas Pimperton and Agnes Rinder. I know they were married on 22/03/1767 in Rothwell, Yorkshire. Thomas was a glassmaker and may be the son of John Pimperton of Bank House. Thomas and Agnes had a son Henry born 12/01/1768, but he unfortunately it looks like he died the following year. They may also have had a son Elijah born in 1779 and a daughter Catherine born in 1781 (all sourced from the Yorkshire Parish and Probate Records). It appears at some point they moved to Dumbarton in Scotland where they had a daughter Ann in 1784 (sourced from OPRs). Thanks.

Alexander Lang/Margaret Crumb and James Lindsay/Katharine Lang
(May 08 Green)
Am researching ancestors and descendants of both couples. Alexander and Margaret Lang married in Dumbarton in 1710, while James and Katharine Lindsay married in 1754, also in Dumbarton. Alexander and Margaret had 11 chlidren (John, Agnes, Elizabeth, Margaret, Margaret(2), Janet, Mary, Mary(2), Issobel, William and Katharine). I believe the Katharine Lang who married James Lindsay is the youngest daughter of Alexander Lang and Margaret Crumb.
James Lindsay and Katharine Lang had 7 children (James, Alexander,John, James, Margaret, William and Elizabeth) all born in Dumbarton. I believe I am descended from Elizabeth Lindsay via Ewings and Veitchs.
Regards Mike
