McCann Dudley
(Jul 09
Red)
I am trying to find the birth record of my ancestor John McCann who I believe was born in Dudley. I have him on the 1871 and 1881 census. He married Mary Ann Rogers 03/07/1870 at St Thomas in Dudley and he died 28/09/1885 I have a copy of his death certificate. However I can find no record of his birth. There is a John McCann on the 1851 census whose details fit - his parents are John McCann and Bridgett I have found a record of a marriage of a John McKenna and Bridget Healey at St Thomas in Dudley who could very well be them and I have found records of what could be the births of their other children who are on the 1851 census but I have had no success with John jnr.

Attwood/Wyer/Boxley
(Revised Jul 09 Green)
I'm starting out on a voyage of discovery of my ancestry, assisted by many local Australian members of the Attwood family.
My Australian connections go back to around Dudley (births registered in Dudley, Kingswinsford and marriages in Old Swinsford As I recall!) and the Boxley (Box in some places) family from around the same area.
I'd be especially interested in obtaining details of the Samuel Wyer/Sarah Boxley marriage. Samuel died in 1906, I believe, in Halesowen and Sarah in 1904. A daughter, Jane, was born 1844.

Rudd and Bradley in Dudley
(Revised May 09 Green)
I am investigating the family of my ancestor Thomas Rudd, a watchmaker and jeweller in Dudley. He was born in 1809 according to the 1841 census. His wife Mary was almost certainly the daughter of John Bradley, who founded the company John Bradley & Co in Stourbridge in 1800, and built his famous ironworks there.
