red mail Exclusive Private School (May 04 Red)
At a place called Cedar House in the village of Datchet, an extension was contructed to cater for the schooling and tutoring of local children whose parents were able to afford a little extra. The school was run by two refined young ladies who livedin the house and ran the school during the day. One of these ladies was Eleanor (Elinor) Young who, on 11 Nov 1813, married my 4th GGFather in the village. He was to become Sir John Chapman, who was knighted for his service to the Castle and to thetown of Windsor. He was a surgeon, Mayor in 1823 and a prominent figure in the local community at the time. However, I have very little information about her other than that they had a son, Henry Young Chapman who also became a surgeon. Do you know any more about anything I have mentioned or do you want any more information I may have that may help you? Please send me an email and we may be able to assist each other. Ian
