Rowan/Rolland (Oct 09 Green)
There were a number of Rolland (early spelling was Rowan) families in Culross - many of whom were bailies or wrights there - and one - Rev. Robert Rolland - was a minister at Culross for approximately 4 decades. Rev. Robert Rolland was a cousin of the Rolland family in Saline. His son, the second Adam Rolland of Gask became a prominent lawyer and a friend and confident of Lord Elgin, Thomas Bruce. Rev. Robert Rolland's wife, Antonietta Rolland, was the daughter of the first Adam Rolland of Gask and as such was a distant cousin of Robert.
