Horrocks / Knowles
(Mar 08 Green)
I am researching my Paternal grandmother who was born in Crumpsall (just outside Blackley) Her father was William Horrocks born in 1859 in Blackley and her mother was, I believe, Margaret Knowles born around 1862 in Crumpsall. They had another daughter, Maggie who was born a year after my grandmother (Charlotte Horrocks B 1892) If I'm correct in assuming that her mother was Margaret Knowles, then Margaret's father ran a pub called the Waterloo Inn (Waterloo Street, Crumpsall) Any info, particulalry who William Horrock's father was, would be extremely helpful...

ECKERSLEY
(Apr 04
Red)
I would like to make contact with any family members of FRED. ECKERSLEY please. Fred died in Crumpsall Hospital in May 1962 and the informant on the death certificate was 'F. Eckersley, son, of Lightbowne Rd.' He is given as from CULCHETH HALL, NEWTON HEATH. Can anybody please tell me if this was an Old Folks' Home? Fred. was born in Salford in 1883. He was my great uncle.
